About Me
Hi, I’m Ethan. I am a 26 year old man with Cerebral Palsy, and I drive a power wheelchair to get about. I live in Adelaide with my Mum. I see my Dad and my brother regularly. I enjoy life.
I have many passions including sport, music, current affairs, and I have a great sense of humour. Something I only discovered last year is I love the beach and using a beach wheelchair!
I am an extremely enthusiastic and determined person. I have always tried to be as independent as possible from a very early age. A couple of years ago I realised I needed support in certain situations that I just couldn’t manage on my own. This took me a long time to admit to myself along with others. It was at this point when I realised that I needed a really good solid and committed support team to help me be the best version of myself.
Over the last few years I've built a team of different people to work with me across all of the different parts of my life. It is made up of a mix of male and females, all with different backgrounds, skills and qualities to match the support that I need. For example, I need a physically strong person for my exercises and swimming, someone that I feel comfortable with for my personal care, and someone that I relate to and have fun with for spending time out socially.
Since I've had this team I have been able to be more independent, have new experiences and meet new people. I have created this website to talk about my experiences and build awareness around the importance of people with physical disability having a great support team around them. I decided to call it 'Team Ethan' because with my team, I believe anything is possible.
